Homelessness
Homelessness is a complex problem significantly impacting our community and the Denver Metro area. In recent years, Centennial has seen a visible increase in the number of homeless encampments and individuals along the City’s streets. The 2023 Point in Time Count identified 650 people experiencing homelessness in Arapahoe County.
What We Are Doing
The City of Centennial partners with local organizations to address homelessness in the community. This includes efforts via Centennial's Homeless Outreach Coordinator, who provides support to individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of homelessness. The Coordinator strengthens partnerships between local agencies and nonprofits and proactively implements outreach and rehousing efforts with the goal of providing necessary support and opportunities to those currently unsheltered or at risk of becoming unhoused.
