Building Permit Classifications

One-Stop Permits

Air Conditioner (AC)/Furnace/Water Heater - The replacement of existing HVAC units or water heaters like for like.

Electric Service Change - The replacement of a service or components of the service without additional loads.

Gas Line - The repair or replacement of existing gas lines.

Irrigation Line -The installation of a new backflow preventer.

Miscellaneous - Replacement or repair of plumbing, electrical, mechanical fixtures, siding and vertical cut egress windows.

Reroof - The replacement or repair of a roof covering on a residential property.

Windows/Doors - The replacement of existing windows and/or doors like for like on a residential property.


Commercial Permits

Commercial Alterations - Removal or reconfiguring existing spaces, extending existing spaces, renovating existing spaces to include additions, remodel, and tenant finish that adds to the footprint of the building.

Commercial Demolition - Removal of any plumbing, mechanical, electrical, structural elements within a commercial space.

Commercial Low Voltage - Access Control, Building Automation, Fiber or Data.

Commercial Miscellaneous - Small short-term projects to include electrical, plumbing, mechanical and/or architectural changes.

Commercial New - Any new commercial buildings or developments.

Commercial Renewable Energy - Solar installations, etc.

Commercial Temporary or Accessory Structure - Carports, construction trailers, trash enclosures, sheds, garages for commercial use.

Commercial Tenant Improvement - Reconfiguring existing spaces, extending existing spaces, renovating existing spaces to include remodels, and new tenant finishes.


Residential Permits

Residential Alterations - Removal or reconfiguring existing spaces, extending existing spaces, renovating existing spaces to include additions, remodel, and decks that adds to the footprint of the building.

Residential Demolition - Removal of any plumbing, mechanical, electrical, structural elements within a residential property.

Residential Miscellaneous - Small short-term projects to include electrical, plumbing, mechanical and/or architectural changes.

Residential New - Any new residential buildings or developments.

Residential Renewable Energy - Solar installations on residential properties.

Temporary or Accessory Structure - Carports, construction trailers, trash enclosures, sheds, garages for residential use.
