Mike Sutherland Sworn in as Mayor Pro Tem

Centennial District 3 Council Member Mike Sutherland will serve as Mayor Pro Tem from March 4, 2025, until January 6, 2026. Elected annually, this position carries out mayoral functions during any temporary absences of the Mayor. Council Member Sutherland is serving his final year on City Council due to being term-limited. His service to the City began in 2005 when he joined the Planning and Zoning Commission, later leading to his election as District 3 Council Member.

As a District 3 Council Member, Sutherland serves as a liaison to several community organizations and committees, which include (not limited to): 

  • Centennial’s Investment Committee
  • Centennial Faith Council
  • Cherry Creek Basin Water Quality Authority Board Member
  • South Metro Denver Chamber
