According to SmartAsset, Centennial is the 3rd most livable, mid-sized city in the United States. SmartAsset looked at data, provided by the U.S. Census Bureau, for 174 cities with populations of more than 100,000, excluding the 100 largest cities in the country. Eight factors were considered in the rankings. Cities were compared by unemployment rate, median household income, monthly housing cost, median home value, poverty rate, uninsured rate, average commute and the Gini coefficient (a measure of inequality). The top 10 list shows six Colorado and California cities as most livable. When it comes to Centennial, the median household income is $96,634, and the unemployment rate is only 3.3 percent, the second-lowest rate in the top 10 and a top five score overall. Other Colorado cities that made the list are: Highlands Ranch (1), Arvada (8), Lakewood (16).
