The City of Centennial contracts with Colorado Mosquito Control Inc., to operate an Integrated Mosquito Control Program to protect public health from the effects of the West Nile Virus (WNV) and to suppress local populations of nuisance mosquitoes.

For additional information on preventative measures you can take against mosquitoes, visit Fight the Bite.

Zika Virus

Zika is not present in Colorado. The climate (temperature, precipitation and humidity) in Colorado is not ideal for the Aedes aegypti mosquito, the primary carrier of Zika. Because of this, outbreaks are unlikely to occur here. It’s likely there will be cases in travelers returning from countries where there are outbreaks. For more information, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
