Enos Mills: Father of Rocky Mountain National Park - Thursday, August 15 | 2-3 p.m.

As boy and as man, Enos Mills (1870-1922) lived a remarkable mountain life. From childhood on, his bond with mountains and wilderness, especially the Estes Park area, inspired him to overcome personal hardship to become a successful speaker, writer, naturalist, businessman, and driving force behind the creation of Rocky Mountain National Park. Join storyteller, outdoorsman, and award-winning author, John Stansfield, as he reenacts key moments in the life of this remarkable Coloradan. Medication Safety: Tips and Tricks - Thursday, August 22 | 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Join us for an informative afternoon about how to stay safe with medications at home. You will join a registered pharmacist to discuss ways to organize your medications and identify the benefits and pitfalls of over-the-counter medications, including supplements. Lunch will be provided. This event will be at Centennial Medical Center, 14100 E. Arapahoe Rd., Suite B200, Centennial CO, 80112. REGISTER HERE

Digital Storytelling: Developing a Community of Practice - Thursday, September 5 | 2-3 p.m.

Interested in learning how to share your story? Join Marty Otañez, Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Denver, as we learn how to communicate personal experiences and memories through digital storytelling. You will learn key elements of the digital storytelling process, as well as the basic technical skills needed to create short videos. A variety of examples will be screened to generate new ideas about story identification and image selection. This event will be at South Suburban Family Sports Center, 6901 S. Pain Management: Let’s Change the Focus to Change the Outcome - Thursday, September 12 | 10:30- 11:30 a.m.

Pain affects us biologically, psychologically, and socially. It affects our time with friends and loved ones, how we view ourselves, and our ability to do the things we enjoy. Because pain affects so many different areas of our lives, we need to treat pain from different angles. Join Dr. Amy Wachholtz, Associate Professor of Psychology and Director of the Clinical Health Psychology program at the University of Colorado Denver, as she discusses different types of pain, how the brain handles pain, and research verified home-based strategies for effective pain management.
